1. CURD AND EGG MASK
How to make it?
- In a blow, take one cup of curd.
- 1 whole egg.
- Mix them well.
- Apply this hair mask for about 30 – 45 minutes.
- Rinse it off with lukewarm water and shampoo your hair and mild shampoo.

This hair mask works best for people who suffer from dandruff, dry scalp and hair fall. Curd contains antibacterial and moisturizing properties which will soften your hair and remove infections like itchy scalp and dandruff. 2. ALOE VERA GEL AND LEMON
How to make it?
- Take one cup of aloe vera. ( depending on the hair length)
- Add 2-4 drops of lemon.
- Mix well.
- Apply for 15- 30 minutes and rinse it with lukewarm water and mild shampoo.
Aloe Vera has tons of health benefits, works best when fighting dandruff. It has vitamins, minerals, amino acids that nourish our scalp and its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help in reducing dandruff. Lemon contains Vitamin C and is an antimicrobial that helps in removing dandruff from the hair. So, use this hair mask at least twice a week to notice results.
3. NEEM AND CURD HAIR MASK
How to make it?
- Take 1 cup neem leaves (according to your hair length and volume)
- Rinse them in water to get rid of dirt.
- Blend them well with 1 cup of curd.
- To that paste, add coconut oil.
- Apply this mask for 45 minutes – 60 minutes.
- Rinse it with lukewarm water and mild shampoo.
Neema leaves are anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties which can combat dandruff. Curd also has antibacterial properties. Coconut oil helps in nourishment and curbs dandruff.
4. FENUGREEK SEEDS HAIR MASK
How to make it?
- Soak Fenugreek seeds (methi seeds) overnight.
- Grind them in a paste.
- Add 2-3 drops of coconut oil.
- Apply this paste for 15- 30 minutes.
- Rinse it with lukewarm water and mild shampoo.

Fenugreek seeds are rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin K and Vitamin C. They contain folic acid, nicotinic acid that combats dandruff and itchy scalp. It is also best for hair growth as it contains lecithin which nourishes hair roots and stimulates faster hair growth.
5. ONION JUICE HAIR MASK
How to make it?
- Take an onion.
- Grind it well in a blender.
- Take the onion paste and put it in a muslin cloth.
- Take a blow, and gently squeeze the muslin cloth, it will filter the juice from the onion paste.
- Viola! Onion juice is ready.
- In this juice add one-two drops of tea tree oil (optional)
Onion is a magical ingredient for our hair. Onion is rich in sulphur which promotes hair growth. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties and fights dandruff. Even you can use this hair mask to stop premature greying of your hair as it contains antioxidants. To get rid of the pungent smell of onions, you can use an essential oil like tea tree oil which works best for curing dandruff.
6. HIBISCUS HAIR MASK
How to make it?
- Take 5-6 petals and 3-5 leaves of hibiscus. (Depending upon the length of your hair)
- Wash it thoroughly in water to get rid of dirt and pollen on leaves and petals.
- Grind them in the blender to get a paste-like consistency.
- Add three tsp curd.
- Mix it well.
- Apply this hair mask for 45-60 minutes on your scalp.
- Wash it with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.
Astringent properties of hibiscus make it a great natural ingredient for curing dandruff. Hibiscus has several other benefits like it promotes hair growth, smoothens our hair and prevents hair loss. 7. GOOSEBERRY (AMLA) HAIR MASK

How to make it?
- Cut Amla into small pieces.
- Take 2-5 Tulsi leaves.
- Add 3 TSP of curd.
- Grind them well in a blender.
- Apply this hair mask on your scalp for about 30 to 45 minutes.
- Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and mild shampoo.
Amla is an elixir as it is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E. It helps in getting rid of dandruff as it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Not only that, but Amla also helps in preventing hair fall. Crud is an addition to fight dandruff more effectively.
ADDITIONAL TIPS TO COMBAT DANDRUFF:
- Change your pillowcases more often.
Sleeping on your one pillow cover for a long time may be the reason, your dandruff is still present in your hair. Pillow covers may accumulate dandruff and dirt. If possible go for the pillow covers made with silk as they will have less fiction leading to less breakage and more hair growth.
- Buy a shampoo which treats dandruff.
Use a shampoo which especially treats dandruff and always keeps your scalp clean. Please do not use shampoo on your ends, restrict it to your scalp. These shampoos can often dry out your ends. Wash your hair 1-2 times in a week, if you have dry hair. If you have oily hair, wash it 3-4 times.
- Oil your hair more often with coconut and tea tree oil.

You should use coconut oil and a hint of tea tree oil to oil your hair. At least oil your hair two hours before you wash your hair. Lack of moisture in your hair creates dandruff, so follow a regular oiling routine.
- Do not share your hairbrush.
Do not share your hairbrush with your friends and relatives and vice versa, do not use the hairbrush/ comb of other people. It can lead to more dandruff. Please clean your hairbrush regularly.
- Eat a balanced diet and exercise.
