How it all begins
Yesterday was the day of ‘Who Cares?’ Now is the first day of high school. From today on, his decisions could have a long-lasting effect on his life. Nothing will be the same because of him.
Most elderly conventional cultures have festivals of maturity. Everybody around young adult or adolescent understands this is time to go forward. Now they are old enough to transfer into adults. They will have a couple of years to become familiar with the thought they’re adults.
We only express that at age eighteen you’re old enough for being an adult. That means to get married, be legally responsible for your actions. There is no sign, no service, no enabling that will happen so fast.
Is it ok to fail?
We now need to admit that by now our kids come to the right school if we’re honest, our influence has fallen. That is not to imply our love, attendance, and character modeling is essential. It’s only that we taught them all those things we were going to show them.
We’ve instructed them to consider their own, or we have not. We’ve educated them or we have not. We’ve instructed them that the Golden Rule, or we have not. We’ve instructed them to say no to premarital sex and drugs, or we have not. You will have the concept.
By now our kids are stepping high school they understand that we see them differently. They understand that we find education valuable and we appreciate the degree. When children walk through the doors of high school they are accountable.
There is nothing that parents could do if the child chooses to flunk out of school. There are going to be times when they will choose to take the wrong path. But you have to be a parent then and show authority. You don’t need to allow them to go out or drive. You don’t need to give them an allowance if they did not deserve it.
What if I lose control over my child’s life?
You have to be a parent and decide what is the best thing to do in the situations you can’t control. You can’t force your child to be in classes, as well you can’t force him to be home on curfew.
Up to high school, no one cared for what type of grades they had.
The grades they get now affect whether the college will accept them. The grades they get now affect whether they will get student loans. Children in high school have to compete with their colleagues in many fields.
The whole future is in their hands now, either they are going to join some good faculty or drop out. The future is in their hands and they need an anchor. Someone stable who will be there for them.
Using that time forward, children are responsible for one’s destiny. How much paid vacation would they would like as a grownup? Exactly how many nice toys are they going to be in a position to buy? How nice of a place are they going to dwell in? Those are some of the questions that you can ask your teenager. They need to know that they are in charge of their destiny.
